Michael Beauchamp and Tony Popovic face the media before tonight’s Champions League match against Ulsan Hyundai.

Western Sydney Wanderers look to take first place and leapfrog group leaders Ulsan Hyundai with when they take on the K-League Classic side in the AFC Champions League tonight at 8:30pm.

The Red and Black enter Match Day 5 of their Champions League campaign in second place just one point behind Ulsan Hyundai.

Two wins in the final two matches would not only seal qualification for the Red and Black but would see them top the group.

With their destiny in their own hands these remaining fixtures are of upmost importance.

When Wanderers and Ulsan met on Match Day 1. The Red and Black started strong with Brendon Santalab scoring within 40 seconds before succumbing to a 3-1 loss. While the loss was hard to take, the general performance was good and provided many lessons which the Club used to win their following two fixtures.

Head Coach Tony Popovic says his team is ready to make amends for their opening match loss.

“We performed well that day but we made a few mistakes against a good team that punished us,” explained Popovic.

“We-ve learnt a lot since then; we-ve had two good results against Guizhou and Frontal so we-re very confident going into the game.

“The match is a challenge we-re looking forward to. We really want to showcase ourselves in this competition and we believe we have an opportunity to get a result.”

Kick-off between Western Sydney Wanderers and Ulsan Hyundai is at 8:30pm AEST with coverage starting on Fox Sports 2 at 8:20pm.
