The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers are proud to announce Visy as Mascot Partner for the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season.

The partnership will see Michael Beauchamp in the role as official ambassador for Visy Recycled Plastics as well as all player mascots wearing the Visy branded uniforms at every player walk out on Hyundai A-League match days at Pirtek Stadium.

Visy, one of the world’s leading packaging and recycling companies, believes in creating a better world by seeking to close the loop between recycled materials and recyclable products, produced in Australia.

Visy will deliver an education presentation on recycling and sustainability to each group of player mascots before every match. The program will contain talks, videos and hand-outs to ensure our leaders of tomorrow understand the importance of waste reduction for a better world.

NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers Executive Chairman Lyall Gorman said that this partnership will encourage important habits in the community.

“We are proud to link ourselves to an organisation who shares our passion to make our community a better place,” said Mr Gorman.

“Educating our children and the wider community on the importance of sustainability and recycling is an important part of ensuring Western Sydney remains a vibrant place to live.

“The Wanderers and Visy share very similar values when it comes to culture and attitude including our drive to consistently find new and better ways of doing things.

“This makes the Wanderers and Visy a perfect fit.”

General Manager – Insights and Innovation at Visy, Richard Macchiesi is excited at this new partnership.

“We welcome the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers, their supporters and community into the Visy family,” said Mr Macchiesi.

“This is a unique opportunity for our new Recycled Plastics plant, based in Western Sydney, and the other surrounding Visy plants to demonstrate that working closely as a team, like the Wanderers, can lead to great outcomes.

“This exciting new facility will convert in excess of 30,000 tonnes of recycled HDPE and PET into food grade, FDA approved PET & HDPE for manufacture into new products. The partnership with the Wanderers is a great chance to launch and promote our new recycled plastics logo for use on consumer products.”
