The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers are proud to announce the continuation of their White Ribbon match at this Saturday night’s home match against Wellington Phoenix.

The Western Sydney Wanderers have been proud supporters of White Ribbon since the club’s inception and will be looking to raise their voices on Saturday night to prevent violence against Women.

White Ribbon is the world’s largest movement of men and boys working to end men’s violence against women and girls, promote gender equality and create a new vision of masculinity.

They focus on primary prevention through stopping violence before it starts.

Through education, awareness raising and creative campaigns, preventative programs, partnerships and political advocacy, White Ribbon Australia highlights the positive role men can play to stop violence against women and enables them to be part of this social change.

Sport is an important vehicle in spreading the message of White Ribbon and producing social change, and the Wanderers are committed to supporting the campaign through several ways.

The team will wear the white away strip in the match against the Phoenix and ask Members and Fans to wear white to help raise awareness.

The match against the Wellington Phoenix will see the pledge be taken pre-match with 60 children lining the edge of the field wearing a mix of white and black shirts, the black representing the one in three women that have experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by a person known to them.

The White Ribbon fixture is the start of the Wanderers’ campaign to end violence against women with Wanderers Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and National Youth League players all heading out into the community to educate and raise awareness.
