The Western Sydney Wanderers fought back twice to earn a point with a 2-2 draw away to Melbourne Victory.

An own goal gave Victory the lead at Lakeside Stadium but Sarah Yatim levelled just after the hour-mark.

After Kariah White had put the hosts ahead again, Katie Stengel equalised in additional time to see the teams share the spoils.

Victory made the perfect start, taking the lead in the second minute as the Wanderers turned an Annabel Martin cross into their own net.

The Wanderers had their chance to equalise in the eighth minute after winning a penalty but Bethany Mason-Jones dived to her right to keep out Stengel’s spot-kick.

Lia Privitelli threatened just before the break for Victory, while Alexandra Natoli cleared a Paige Nielsen effort off the line shortly after the interval.

Yatim equalised after Victory was unable to deal with a cross from the right in the 61st minute.

However, White struck off the bench, her cross from the right flying into the top corner.

But the Wanderers would earn a point as Stengel finished in a one-on-one late on.

Victory returns to action with a trip to Newcastle on Friday, while the Wanderers host Melbourne City in Round 7.
