The Western Sydney Wanderers have today announced the promotion of Fabian Monge from the Wanderers Academy to the Hyundai A-League on a scholarship contract for two years starting from the 2019/20 season.

Monge played his junior football at Marconi Stallions before joining the Wanderers Academy for the 2017/18 Foxtel Y-League season.

The Bossley Park local scored on his Wanderers debut in the Foxtel Y-League and was a member of the Wanderers side that were crowned champions of the Foxtel Y-League in 2018 and 2019 Grand Final team.

A current member of the Young Socceroos, Monge is looking forward to continuing his development in the Red & Black.

“I’m a local, I’m from Bossley and I went to Bossley Park High School,” said Monge.

“Transitioning from the Wanderers Academy to the Hyundai A-League will help continue my development and I’m really excited for the challenge.

“I know it’s a big step, but I’m ready to put in the work and I’m really grateful for the opportunity.

“To represent my local club and wear the Red & Black is a real honour, everyone in the team has been really welcoming.”
