Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the re-signing of defender Courtney Nevin for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 season.

The 18-year-old joined the Red & Black two seasons ago and has quickly become one of the most integral players in the Wanderers squad, featuring in 22 out of 25 matches.

The Western Sydney local is regularly selected in the Young Matildas and has also been called up to join the senior Matildas for a training camp.

Head coach Dean Heffernan said he was delighted to have Courtney back for another season.

“Courtney plays with a confidence beyond her years and consistently works her hardest both at training and in matches,” said Heffernan.

“We are proud of her development so far and are looking forward to pushing her this season.”

Nevin said she was proud to represent her local club for another season.

“Last season was an amazing opportunity for me, making the starting line-up each week and playing the full 90 minutes,” said Nevin.

“I really enjoyed myself, the environment and the culture within the club was amazing, our coaching staff and players gelled together really well.

“I think it’s the Wanderers year to be the Champions of the Westfield W-League and it would be great to be part of that with this club.

“We broke a lot of records last season, so it would be amazing to break some more.”
