The Western Sydney Wanderers have today confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Danijel Nizic and the extension of goalkeeper Nicholas Suman’s scholarship contract.

Danijel Nizic joins the Wanderers on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with League Two’s Morecambe FC, where the 23-year-old has spent the last two seasons.

An Australian youth international, Nizic returns home for the first time since moving overseas in 2012, spending a year on trial with League One side Portsmouth before signing a two-year contract with Championship club Burnley.

The talented shot-stopper has had stints at Working, Chorley and Crewe Alexandra on loan, and more recently, featured in 11 matches for Morecambe.

Nicholas Suman will continue his development at the Wanderers after signing a two-year extension on his scholarship contract.

The 18-year-old has been part of the Wanderers Academy set-up since 2015 and made his debut for the club in the Foxtel Y-League.

Suman has been part of the first-team environment for the last two years, cementing himself as a regular starter in the Wanderers’ NPL 2 first-grade team and was also part of the club’s Foxtel Y-League Championship winning side earlier this year.

The keepers will be working with and competing against Vedran Janjetovic to secure the Wanderers #1 spot this season.
