It’s been a fantastic start to the Foxtel Y-League season for the Red & Black.

There’s still plenty of football left to be played but many would agree that it’s going to be very hard for anyone to stop the Wanderers.

Five rounds into what is a 10-game regular season and Arthur Diles’ side already sits 10 points clear at the top of Group B with a perfect record after five wins from five.

The Wanderers have done it in some fashion too, hammering home 24 goals so far.

The Wanderers began the season with an 8-0 thumping of Canberra United, followed by a 2-0 victory on the road against Central Coast Mariners.

A commanding display in the Sydney Derby saw them run out 3-1 winners in Round 3 before the Wanderers thumped Newcastle Jets 5-3 at home the next week.

Two weeks ago in their last match of 2017, the Wanderers turned on the style to once again punish Canberra United in a 6-3 drubbing.

With five rounds left to play, the Red & Black are in pole position to lock up first place in Group B, which would see them advance to the Grand Final to meet the winner of Group A, which includes Adelaide United, Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory, Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory.

There have been standouts all across the Wanderers squad, with striker Abraham Majok leading the charge up front, top-scoring with six goals, including an opening-round hat-trick against Canberra United.

Highly touted attacking midfielder Kosta Grozos has been equally on-song, netting four so far this campaign.

After a bye in Round 6, the Wanderers will look to solidify their spot at the top when they host Central Coast Mariners on Saturday afternoon at Popondetta Park.
