The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will face fellow Hyundai A-League outfit Wellington Phoenix in a pre-season friendly on Sunday 13 September at Pirtek Stadium.
Kicking off at 6pm, the match will see a long-awaited return to Pirtek Stadium for the Wanderers, who will kick-off their Hyundai A-League campaign at the same venue on 8 October against Brisbane Roar .
The fixture against the Phoenix will be the first opportunity to see Tony Popovic’s new off-season signings take the pitch at Wanderland, including Dimas, Mitch Nichols, Scott Jamieson and marquee man Federico Piovaccari.
The last meeting between the two sides was back in February of this year, where goals from Nikita Rukavytsya and Brendon Santalab secured a 2-0 win for the Wanderers at Pepper Stadium.
Phoenix will be travelling with their full-strength squad in preparation for the coming season.
