The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers brightened the lives of patients at the Children-s Hospital at Westmead when they attended the FIFA 14 Launch on Thursday night.

Jerrad Tyson, Tahj Minniecon, Tomi Juric, Kwabena Appiah and Josh Barresi were on hand at the Starlight Room where they were privileged to spend a few hours of fun and games with kids.

Western Sydney goalkeeper Tyson explained that spending time with those who find themselves in difficult circumstances is a big part of being a Wanderer.

“Last night was a great event,” he said.

“Any opportunity we have to go out into the Western Sydney community and visit kids that need a lift or a bit of a pick-up we-re always happy to do that.”

Having forged a strong bond with the children during the visit Tyson claimed that events like these have a positive effect for everyone involved.

“It was a great experience for me and I certainly left with a lot of appreciation of not just my health and wellbeing but for what I do in my life.

“It-s a special experience getting to work with young kids; I-ve got a passion for putting a smile on young kids- faces and this time was no different.”

The children were excited to see their football idols and their enthusiasm had a big effect on all of the Wanderers boys who attended.

“Last night was really special and something we look forward to continuing in the future.

“This is something I will look to go back and do again.”
