Wanderers new signing Lynn Williams has warmed up for her stint with the club in the Westfield W-League this season with a brace of goals in the USA's 6-0 rout of Costa Rica in a friendly today.
Coming on as a second half substitute, the exciting attacker didn’t take long to find her mark, scoring in the 50th minute then adding her second in the 68th minute.
Williams almost had a hat-trick later in the half but couldn’t control the bouncing ball with an open goal at her mercy.
The match marked the striker's 21st game for the United States and has scored six times.
The North Carolina Courage star will be coming off a fabulous NWSL season in which she helped the club to win the Shield and Championship double for the second season in succession.
Williams has been the club’s leading goalscorer for the past three seasons. This season, Williams scored 12 goals and finished second overall behind Australia's Sam Kerr (19 goals).
