Williams named in 28-player training camp for US Women's National Team

Wanderers star striker Lynn Williams has been named in a 28-player training camp to kick off 2020 for the U.S Women's National Team.

The camp held in Tampa, Florida, will be the final event before the selection of the 20-player squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be staged at the end of January.

Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski said the training camp was crucial for the national team's preparations in earning a berth to Tokyo.

“The players are coming off their break, so I know everyone will be excited, rested, refreshed and ready to tackle our next goals, which are having a productive training camp and preparing for Olympic Qualifying,” said Andonovski.

“A long-time strength of this team has been the internal competition on the training field and our coaching staff is looking forward to seeing that during camp as it will help us pick the best team to take to qualifying and try to earn our berth to Tokyo.”
