Western Sydney Wanderers FC have progressed through to the FFA Cup Round of 16 after defeating Perth Glory 2-1 at Dorrien Gardens last night.

Goals from youngster Mohamed Adam and Kwame Yeboah capped off what was a hard-fought performance by the Red & Black against last season’s Premiers.

It was end-to-end action throughout the match with the Wanderers having plenty of chances early on through Yeboah, Raddy Majewski and Daniel Georgievski.

Wanderers goalkeeper Dani Lopar was having a standout performance, pulling off some spectacular saves to keep the scores tensely deadlocked.

It took until extra time for the deadlock to be broken and it all came from the magic work of Bruce Kamau who weaved his way past Perth’s defence, laying off the perfect ball for Adam to fire home.

The Wanderers celebrations though were cut short and a few minutes later Tomislav Mrcela hit one back for the Glory to make the scores level oncemore.

With the clock ticking and the knock-out match slowly heading to penalties, Yeboah was the hero for the Red & Black after pouncing on a loose ball on the goal-line to tap in the winner.

The Wanderers will now take on Sydney United in the FFA Cup Round of 16. Date and venue to be announced.
