Biography
Dylan McGowan was born in Adelaide into a Scottish family.
As a youngster, McGowan played for Para Hills Knights before signing his first senior contract with Scottish club Hearts.
McGowan spent five years at Hearts, playing in 64 games before securing loan stints at East Fife and Gold Coast United in the Hyundai A-League.
The defender departed Hearts and joined Adelaide United in 2014 where he featured in 82 games and scored seven goals, helping the club win both the FFA Cup and Hyundai A-League Championship during his three seasons at the club.
Following his stint at United, McGowan returned overseas and played for clubs such as Pacos de Ferriera, Gangwon and Vendsyssel.
McGowan returned to the Hyundai A-League in June 2019, signing with the Western Sydney Wanderers for the next three seasons.
The experienced defender made his debut for the Red & Black in the club's historic match against Leeds United on 20 July 2019.
