biography-icon Biography
Local boy Kearyn Baccus grew up in Kings Park and started playing football for his local team, Blacktown City, as a junior. Progressing through the ranks quickly, the talented midfielder had stints at a few National Youth League clubs before heading to Europe and playing for Le Mans in France and Real Mallorca and Real Sociedad in Spain. It was during his time in Europe that Kearyn was called into a Socceroos training camp in 2011. With his European journey ending, Kearyn returned home and signed for Blacktown City where he won the NSW National Premier League before being announced as a Wanderers signing on 6 November 2014 as an injury-replacement player. Kearyn made his Red & Black debut against Perth Glory in Round Six of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season and was rewarded for his impressive form with a permanent deal. He went on to prove himself as one of the most important players for the Red & Black making 15 appearances in season 2015/16 before becoming a regular starting selection in 2016/17. A number of impressive performances by Baccus in all of the Wanderers AFC Asian Champions League group stage matches saw him named the Wanderers' AFC Champions League Player of the Tournament presented by AETOS. Kearyn's fantastic season earned him a contract extension that will now see him in the Red & Black until the end of the 2018/19 season.
